OPPORTUNITY:
MAC Group Ltd was awarded a multiple plots package on the Orwell Logistics Park, Nacton, Ipswich. The major industrial and distribution development is strategically positioned near the Port of Felixstowe, one of the UK’s busiest container ports. The works included plots 4 and 6 along with the Outside Storage Area, (OSA).
- Size: Approximately 60 acres, offering units from 88,000 sq ft up to 500,000 sq ft across multiple phases.
- Purpose: Designed for logistics, warehousing, and distribution businesses.
- Status: Modern development with high-spec facilities; some phases are already complete and available for occupation.
- High-quality private estate with landscaped environment.
- ESG credentials: Solar PV, air source heat pumps, energy metering for sustainability.

SOLUTION:
The multiple package award at Orwell Logistics Park included the supply and installation of the following elements.
- Supply and Installation of drainage, (external and internal), including manholes, 3,500 LM of Qmax and channel surface drainage.
- Installation of 12,000M3 and 8,000M3 Attenuation systems.
- Supply and Installation of Rainwater harvesting and Petrol interceptors tanks.
- 5,500 Sq.M of Block Paving.
- 4,500 LM of Kerbing.
- 3,000 LM of LV, HV and Comms Ducting.
- Concrete Foundations and Transformer bases.
- Hydrant mains water installation.
- Street Furniture supply and install.
- Soft landscaping.
The works initially consisted of enabling works across the site. This included a new HGV access road into existing premises. Demolition and ground preparation of areas across the project site. Supply and Installation of deep drainage was underway in August 2024. Two Attenuation tanks were installed and ground stabilised in preparation for the installation HGV hard stands and block paved staff car parks.
